Knee Injections
For patients with knee osteoarthritis who haven't had sufficient relief from physiotherapy or activity changes, an injection can be a genuinely effective way to manage pain and improve function — often helping to delay or avoid surgery.
Mr George offers several different injectable treatments, each working differently and suited to different situations.
Corticosteroid Injections
Fast-acting relief for flare-ups, typically lasting weeks to a few months.
Best suited to managing a symptom flare, or as part of a broader treatment plan.
Durolane
A single hyaluronic acid injection, with relief typically lasting up to around six months.
A middle-ground option between short-term steroids and longer-acting treatments.
Arthrosamid
A longer-acting hydrogel injection that integrates into the joint lining, with relief reported to last several years in appropriately selected patients.
Our Injection Options
Which One Is Right for You?
With three genuinely different options available, choosing between them depends on the severity of your osteoarthritis, what you've already tried, how quickly you need relief, and how you feel about frequency versus duration of treatment. Read our full comparison
What These Injections Can & Can't Do
It's worth being clear: none of these injections regrow cartilage or reverse osteoarthritis. They manage symptoms — pain, stiffness, and inflammation — to varying degrees, which can meaningfully improve quality of life and delay the need for surgery, but they don't repair the underlying joint damage.
