Durolane

Durolane is a single-injection hyaluronic acid treatment, designed to restore lubrication and cushioning in a knee joint affected by osteoarthritis.

How It Works

Durolane uses a stabilised form of hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring lubricant in joint fluid) to help restore the joint's natural cushioning and shock absorption, which becomes depleted as osteoarthritis progresses.

 

Its stabilised formulation is designed to remain active in the joint considerably longer than standard hyaluronic acid, which is why it's given as a single injection rather than a course.

Clinical studies have generally reported meaningful pain relief lasting up to around six months following a single injection, though this varies between patients.

 

It's a straightforward outpatient procedure with minimal downtime.
